aloha HURT ohana,

I just wanted to say a big mahalo to the HURT ohana for welcoming me, Bryson, Steven, and Jimmy into the many facets of the 2017 HURT 100.  Thank you for allowing us to capture the unfolding drama on film.  If you were at the dinner, we hope that you enjoyed the highlight reel our team put together for HURT.  As hard as they worked to haul heavy camera gear up up Nu'uanu ridge and beyond, Bryson and Steven are working even harder right now on the official trailer.  We look forward to kicking the crowdfunding into high gear shortly and hope you'll consider supporting the film and sharing the trailer with your family and friends on social media.  Imagine being able to share the HURT story and the unmatched beauty of Hawai'i's trails and the drama of the HURT 100 on the big screen with your family and friends....this is is what is driving the passion behind this project.  We all know we have an amazing story to tell!

Thank you again, and please like and follow our facebook page, linked below, to see the trailer when it comes out in the next week or two! Donations can be given on the link at the bottom of www.hurt100film.com.

Mahalo nui loa!

PS: Aerial shot on top is of the huge tree right at the junction of the side trail that leads to Pauoa Flats lookout and the trail down to Paradise Park.  So cool to see it in the sea of bamboo from the air! Expect to see many more views that are now only possible with drones...we got so much cool stuff to share with you guys!

Post HURT100 Picnic and Recovery Shuffle

Ho'omaluhia Botanical GardenCongrats to all those who came out and toed the line this past weekend at the HURT 100!

This year our annual post-race shuffle and picnic at the Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens is going to be slightly modified. Unfortunately they are not allowing run groups in to the park without a permit, and those aren’t granted till after 4pm. So we’re going to continue our tradition of having our annual picnic starting around 10am but do a quick run close by but outside the park.

For the run, let’s meet at 7:00am near the Koolau Golf Club / First Presbyterian Church at 45-550 Kionaole Rd. After parking in the lot, run back down the road a little till you get to the last turn where you came in (this is where we’ll be meeting). From there we’ll turn right and head up the old road all the way up to Pali Highway, where we can cross underneath the highway to meet up another trail which leads to Pali Lookout. I think it’s only a few miles but not exactly sure ;)

If just coming to the picnic, after entering the Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens, drive in through the gate and keep an eye out for the sign that says ‘Kahua Kukui’ - it is the Polynesian section of the park and the entrance is lined with Kukui trees and this is where we will be meeting. Please bring a dish to share along with your best stories from the weekend! Bonus points for wearing cat pants!

See you Saturday!
