Mainland Runner Missing Wallet at HURT 100

Aloha Runners,

What a weekend. Results will be coming, but just as important we have a mainland runner, Dennis Cook whose wallet is missing from a drop bag that was placed at the Nature Center during the HURT 100. We ask you to go through your personal drop bags to see if somehow his wallet ended up in your bag. This runner is now unable to get a hotel room, drive his rental car, and now without identification he might find it hard to fly home. He will be in attendance at the post run banquet tomorrow night. If you have come across his wallet or identification please give me a call (808)358-8638 so that we can return it to him.

Much Aloha,

Jeff Huff

HURT 100 Trail Marking

Hi Gang !

Trail marking for this year's HURT 100 is tomorrow morning (Friday) at 8:00 am. We will meet at the lower parking lot of the Hawaii Nature Center, as usual, to get supplies and split-up into teams. As PJ says..."be there are be square". She also says other things, but I'm not going to repeat them.  Don

Paradise Park Webcam

There's been a lot of interest in viewing the Paradise Park webcam on race day.   If anyone wants to view the live webcam, they need to have yahoo instant messenger. Once they've got that, they need to add paradiseaidstation@yahoo.com to their contact list, and send me an e-mail from a yahoo address only.  I'll add that person to my contact list, and when everything's set up on race day, will send out an invitation to everyone to view the webcam. I cannot send an invite to non-Yahoo e-mails, and you must have Yahoo Messenger running to receive the invitation.

If you have any questions you can e-mail me at the address above. Aloha! Rob

2010 H.U.R.T. 100 Final Reminders

Aloha Runners,

Are you folks ready for the "Run(ble) in the Jungle"? As your race volunteers put on the finishing touches to what promises to be a very exciting weekend we would like to remind you of the following:

We will be using Succeed Ultra as your electrolyte drink at the event.

The runner check in will begin Friday at 3:30 p.m. We will likely be there earlier if you would like to grab your race bag. You are encouraged to bring a chair to the brief.

Monday night banquet tickets will be sold at the pre race brief for $40.00 each. This will be the only time we are selling the tickets.

Do not bring drop bags to pre race brief. Bring your drop bags on race morning and place them in the appropriate place ( sites to be labeled)

Please remind your crew that while we love their enthusiasm we don't want to see them at the first aid station at Paradise Park in Manoa. We need to get our volunteers in there so they can set up for you folks.

Speaking of crews please have them print their own maps from this site prior to heading out. Unlike the past we will not have any available on Friday afternoon.

We are working diligently to provide runner tracking throughout the event. We will post a link to this blog when that is finalized.

On race morning you are required to check in once again. We will have a table set up. This is a mandatory check in, we need to know who is out on the trail.

Pre / race and post race we need volunteers to mark/ pull down trail marking ribbon. Please contact trail marking coordinator Don

During the event we hope you take the time to thank the volunteers who have put forth a great deal of time and energy into this event so that you all might have memories that will last a lifetime.

We look forward to seeing you all. As we sit here typing this the clouds have opened up and the rain has begun. It must be time for the H.U.R.T. 100 again.

Much aloha, and safe travels.

Jeff, John, and PJ
