H.U.R.T. 100 Articles Needed For Ultrarunning

Aloha All,

We would like to encourage those of you who ran H.U.R.T. 100 this year to submit an article to Ultrarunning. Don Allison wants to feature H.U.R.T. in the April issue, therefore he needs submission by February 27. For those interested you can find the submission info here http://www.ultrarunning.com/ultra/about/submissions.shtml . Please submit directly to Ultrarunning.

Make it as short or long as you like. We will forward on our own story of the event with pictures and results, but the more stories the better. Eagerly looking forward to reading your accounts of the event.

Aloha,

Jeff Huff

Congrat's to a couple of past HURT 100 participants

This may be old news for some of you. David Goggins won the inaugural Twin Peaks 50 miler last weekend in S. California. This race was directed by Jessica Deline. More info and photos are here.

Beverly Anderson-Abbs won the Coastal Challenge in Costa Rica. More info is here.

Congratulations to these two fine runners.

HURT Thank You and Training Thank You

Here's a couple of e-mails received lately. One is thanking us for the support during the HURT 100 and the other is thanking us for a training run.

Hello to Everyone who helped with H.U.R.T #7

I would like to thank everyone that helped with the H.U.R.T. 7.  Each aid station person was so helpful and encouraging.   I felt like I had a top ranked NASCAR pit crew getting me in and out of the aid stations.  I also learned quite a bit during the run, poor choice in hydration pack - it was to hard for the aid station folks to fill, should have bought gaiters, diced Power Bars and boiled potatoes are the best food on the planet after 20 miles or so, company in the dark is nice even if it is brief, the mud from the trail is impervious to washing - but I have a cool set of brown tied dyed socks and matching singlet now and going downhill for a flatlander is much easier than uphill.  Following the run I logged onto the Ultrarunning website and have planned the rest of my 2007 calendar year runs.  It would be an honor if I was allowed to participate in your event again in 2008, hopefully wiser and maybe a little faster.

You folks run the best event I have ever participated in.  The spirit of Aloha lives within each of you, thanks for all your hard work getting an event like this to completion.

Hi Bob,

Thank you for the very enjoyable run on Sat. Jan. 27.  It was really nice meeting everyone that day and getting to see some beautiful areas.  I came back home on Sunday, Feb. 4, to single digit weather with a wind chill below zero.  I'm so glad I got that run in with all of you!

Good Luck to all who are training for Run to the Sun!

Thank you to Elisa for the ride back to the ship.

I hope to see everyone at a race sometime...

Mahalo to all the 2007 HURT 100 Supporters

We want to thank everyone who supported the 2007 HURT 100. Putting on a race like this would be extremely difficult without the generous support from many people and organizations.

Please click here to read about everyone who helped.
